The Adams St. project is a Tucson located ranch style brick home that ShapeHouse took on as a complete remodel. We acquired this property so that we could build the envelope of design constraints to be the home in it’s entirety. From that we developed a budgetary constraint along with form and function constraints that allowed minimal compromise on the craft of the renewal.

The Kitchen and common-space (dining and living area) were made into one continuous open concept. This required the most reprogramming from a function standpoint. We removed a wall and altered the plan to serve a modern function. The open shelving and custom light fixture were made from locally sourced, weathered cedar from an estate out in the Tucson Mountains. Concrete countertops added an organic texture. This space began to come together with a healthy balance of natural materials juxtaposed with sanitary, orthogonal experience.
