Architectural Metal Fabrication in Phoenix
Shape is a Phoenix fabrication studio that turns architectural drawings into buildable metal and wood. We’re a two-person shop run by Kyle and Mike. Design-assist, engineering, shop drawings, fabrication and installation all happen in-house, and Kyle builds the work himself. One team carries the detail from the first sketch to the jobsite.
We work in steel, stainless, brass, copper and aluminum. Our processes include forging, machining, welding, brazing and cold-rolled forming. We make our own corten-style weathering steel finish in the shop, so we control color and texture instead of waiting on an outside finisher. When a design pairs metal with wood, we mill our own lumber.
What we build:
Custom doors, windows and hardware
Hinges, pivots, latches and other mechanisms
Metal screens, cladding and architectural panels
Custom lighting and fixtures
One-off details that need real material knowledge
Custom metal elements become expensive problems when they’re treated as late add-ons. When we join at design development or earlier, we can solve structure, movement, weather and detailing while the architecture can still change. The result looks intentional and works as intended.
We work with architects, designers, general contractors and homeowners on residential and commercial projects. Send us drawings, a model or a sketch, and we’ll tell you how we’d build it.
